Benjamin Netanyahu tells Douglas Murray that Israel will go it alone to defeat Hamas 'monsters'

Benjamin Netanyahu has said that if needed Israel will "go it alone" in its war with Hamas.

Speaking to TalkTV's Special Correspondent Douglas Murray the Israeli Prime Minister said: “Look, you know this statement, ‘A man's got to do, what a man's gotta do?’

"Let me extend that, ‘A nation has to do what it has to do to survive’.

"If the international community cannot stand the heat of public opinion, we'll just have to do it alone. We will do what we need to do.”

Mr Netanyahu added that beating Hamas would “take some time” but that the conflict was wider than just Israel, warning the West: “If Barbarism wins here, Europe will be next, America will be next.”

“We have to win in Gaza and we have to achieve total victory. Hamas cannot be left standing. For our own sake, for our own future, we have to defeat these monsters.

"I've told President Biden, I've told all the leaders who came here, this is your war as well because this is not merely a minor skirmish.

"This is part of a major confrontation between the moderate axis of Israel in the modern Arab states against Iran, the terror axis of Iran was the three H's - Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas, and others.

"I say to our American friends, the war will take as long as it takes. But it will result in total victory because this, our battle, is your battle and our victory is your victory as well.”

The Prime Minister provided his vision for what would happen in Gaza once Hamas were defeated, saying demilitarisation could only be handled by Israeli forces.

On who will be in charge of the region after the war is over, he said: “One thing is clear, it shouldn't be the United Nations special agency - that was set up for the Palestinians.

Piers Morgan: 'There can be no meaningful and lasting peace in Israel without a two-state solution.'

Piers Morgan: 'Most decent people back Israel’s right to defend itself.'

Piers Morgan urges Israel to recognise the war cannot go on forever

"We discovered that there were 13 United Nations workers who actually participated either directly or indirectly, in the October 7 massacre.

"We need in Gaza, not only a full victory against Hamas, but demilitarisation, sustained demilitarisation. That can only be handled by Israel. If you have another international force that can fight the resurgence of terrorism, let me know."

On the question of Iran, the Prime Minister issued a stark warning, saying: “Iran is determined to develop nuclear weapons. What Iran is doing now, without nuclear weapons - it's sending terrorists across the Middle East and the world.

"It’s trying to subvert governments using its Houthi proxies to block the International Maritime route in the Red Sea.

"Its proxies are killing Americans, as we speak. When you have a country that is aggressive and intent and has nuclear weapons? You can see what is happening with a much smaller country, a much less dangerous country, North Korea. It develops nuclear weapons and half of Asia quakes with fear.

"Iran is different from North Korea, because Iran has an ideology of domination and conquest and subjugation.

"They call us a small Satan. They call the US the great Satan. They chant ‘Death to Israel, Death to America’. Can the United States, can Europe, can the civilised world allow such a regime to have nuclear weapons? The answer's no."
