VIDEO: Suspect screams and begs for help when caught by police dog following high-speed car chase through Sheffield

A suspect who lead police on a high-speed chase screamed for help when he was caught by a police dog.

Footage released by South Yorkshire Police shows a white Skoda Fabia which police said failed to stop for officers before leading them on the chase through Sheffield.

A police helicopter provided an aerial view of the car as it sped into a woodland where the drivers made off on foot and with PC Matt Aris and Police Dog Luna giving chase.

PC Aris managed caught one suspect, a 27-year-old man, and released Luna on the other, a 23-year-old man.

“I challenged them, telling them to stand still or Luna would be released," PC Aris said. "One suspect failed to comply and started to run. I let Luna go, who immediately ran after him and quickly detained him."

In the footage, the 23-year-old suspect can be heard screaming and begging for Aris to call back Luna.

Both suspects were arrested but have since been released with investigations ongoing.
